Complications Stroke

A stroke can sometimes cause temporary disability or permanent, depending on the time missing brain blood flow and the affected part. Complications can include:

Paralysis or loss of muscle movement. Sometimes the lack of blood flow to the brain can cause paralysis on one side of the body, or take control of certain institutions, such as those on one side of the face. With physical therapy, can see improvement in muscle movement or paralysis.

Difficulty in speaking or swallowing. A stroke can cause little control over the movement of the mouth and throat, making it difficult to speak, swallow or eat. A person may have a hard time saying because a stroke caused aphasia, a condition in which a person is difficult to think through language. Treatment and language pathologist can improve this disability.
Memory loss or trouble with understanding. Common in people who have experienced a stroke. Others may develop problems, reasoning and understanding of concepts. These complications may improve with rehabilitation therapy.
Pain. Some people with stroke may have pain, numbness, or the strange feeling in parts of the body affected by the stroke. For example, if a stroke causes loss of feeling in his left arm, may develop unpleasant tingling sensation in that arm. There may also be sensitive to temperature changes, especially extremely cold. This is called a stroke central pain or central pain syndrome (CPS). This complication usually develop a few weeks after a stroke, and it may improve with time elapsed. But because of the pain caused by a problem in the brain instead of a physical injury, there are several drugs to treat CPS.
Changes in behavior and self-care. People with stroke may be withdrawn at or society more impulsive. May lose the ability to care for themselves and may need a caregiver to help them care needs and daily chores.
As with any brain injury, the success of the treatment of these complications will vary from person to person.
