The hippocampus: damage caused by stroke symptoms corresponding to each zone
Early
identification of stroke symptoms will help timely emergency
intervention, positive influence treatment outcome and future status of
the patient. When there are symptoms of a stroke, seek medical aid immediately.
Symptoms of stroke include sudden onset of:
1. Numbness, weakness or paralysis face, hands and feet are usually on one side of the body.
2. visual disturbances in one eye or two, like dark eyes, blurred vision, double vision (diplopia), or blindness.
3. Confusion, cognitive disorders.
4. Say It or lisp.
5. Go instability, dizziness, loss of balance or loss of motor coordination.
6. severe headache.
Symptoms vary depending on the stroke caused by a thrombus (blood clot) or cerebral hemorrhage. Location of thrombotic or hemorrhagic and extent of brain damage has different manifestations in terms of symptoms.
- Symptoms of ischemic stroke (caused by cerebral thrombosis bit) occurs in the body opposite to the brain injury. For example, a stroke occurs on the right side of the brain affects the left side of the body.
-
Symptoms of a stroke caused by bleeding in the brain similar to the
symptoms of ischemic but are distinguished by the symptoms related to
increased intracranial pressure include severe headache, nausea and
vomiting, stiff neck, quickly face, twitching, irritability, confusion
and coma.
Symptoms of a stroke may develop within minutes, hours or days, often progressive worsening. For example, weak at first light can not be happening to move paralyzed limbs on one side of the body.
+
When a stroke caused by a large blood clots (ischemic stroke) or
bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke), symptoms occur suddenly, in a few
seconds.
+
When an artery narrowed by atherosclerotic blockage, stroke symptoms
usually progress slowly for several minutes to several hours, or days
(in rare cases).
+
If there are multiple small strokes over time, patients might have
changed slowly in gait, in the balance, thinking, or behavior (dementia
in multifocal ischemic stroke ).
Not always easy for patients to recognize the symptoms of small strokes. They may mistake these symptoms as a result of old age. Stroke symptoms are easily confused with other conditions also cause similar clinical symptoms.
